Bournemouth 7s Festival has an incredibly dynamic and creative team and over the coming months we’d like to introduce you to the people behind the World’s Largest Sport and Music Festival.
In this ‘Meet The Team’, we caught up with our Senior Project Manager:
Name: Dan Berry
Role: Senior Project Manager
Fun Fact: My son attended Bournemouth 7s Festival at the ripe old age of 24 hours
B7s Tenure: 6 years
Can you tell us a little more about your role as Senior Project Manager in more detail?
Broadly, I lead with most of the digital tools we utilise to help plan and deliver the festival. They include websites, customer management, ticketing, and marketing platforms. That sounds boring, but it’s very varied and a constant process of improvement.
I also manage the front of house box office operation during the festival weekend, which is always a fun challenge, and a great opportunity to see our hard work paying off in real-time.
Finally, I produce, edit, and occasionally co-present the Eventful Entrepreneur Podcast with Dodge Woodall, our founder & CEO. If you haven’t already, go check it out!
What is your top highlight of Bournemouth 7s Festival?
Closing the gates on the 2021 festival was a big moment. Following a 2-year hiatus due the pandemic, we managed to deliver an event under massive pressures and constraints, with industry-wide shortages in supplies, security and staff. We only had 40 days to do it, and we pulled it off. The sense of achievement was massive, and so was the need for sleep.
What are you most looking forward to for 2022?
Getting back to the normal festival cycle. It’ll be 3 years since we had a full run-up to a Bournemouth 7s and having the proper time to prepare is going to feel like a luxury.
Oh… and having a summer when we can sample other festivals. It’s been far too long!
