Renowned as the Sporting Glastonbury, Bournemouth 7s has established a formidable reputation amongst sports people and festival-goers alike! The award-winning festival welcomes 400 rugby, netball, touch, dodgeball, hockey and volleyball teams and 30,000 festival-goers for the #PartyOfTheYear
It was absolutely brilliant, I had the time of my life! Was just soo good being out and everyone enjoying themselves! Thank you for putting on an amazing event! Will see you next year.

Best weekend ever, we travelled over from Ireland and did V.VIP Glamping, best festival I’ve been too.

Bournemouth 7s Festival has a cup for all abilities. So whether you are an elite athlete or a sporting newbie, you'll find a spot for you and your team. So choose from the National Cup with it's fast paced, high quality action, to the social, fancy-dress laden Dodgeball cups.

Thursday we host an exclusive players arrivals party, which is open to all Campers and Players. It’s a fantastic opening party with live music , drinks and food. So if you fancy starting your B7s experience earlier be sure to purchase a camping ticket and make the most of the Bank Holiday Weekend.

With your own dedicated VIP area - the VIP Colourseum, this gives you that little something extra to make your weekend even more special. With games, rides, exclusive DJ sets and some of the best seats in the house for the main rugby pitch, as well as much more, it really does make you feel like a VIP.

The ultimate upgrade gives you access to all that the Festival has to offer! As well as all the amazing perks of VIP you get queue jump, even more exclusive DJ sets as well as your own private luxury toilets. Lost your pegs? Tired of carrying your tent? Or do you want a luxurious place to rest your head before the next day of sport and partying? Well, if this is you then Glamping was made for you! Pre-erected bell tents with beds inside makes your life that much easier. Not only this but you will have access to ‘Glamping Only’ showers and toilets making the whole experience one you won’t forget.
All tickets are sent out prior to the Festival, our ticketing is split between Teams whom are playing sport at the festival (Team Tickets) or General Public Tickets
Team Tickets – All Team tickets will be emailed to the captains of each team in mid-May. This includes any upgrades individuals would have purchased. You can either bring mobile tickets or print them off and distribute them to your team members.
General Public Tickets – All other tickets are emailed the same day when purchased from our ticketing partner. Bring this email with you, either on your phone or a printed copy upon arrival.
NO TICKET = NO ENTRY
Rugby - All matches (group games and knockout stages) will be 7 minutes each way, with elite finals being 10 minutes each way.
Touch Rugby - Matches are 16 minutes in total played in 20 minute slots
Netball - Each netball match will be 7 minutes each way in 17 minute slots
Dodgeball - Each match is made up of 1 set, timed at 2 minutes
Hockey - Games are 12 minutes one way including the final
Only if you are granted permission from the Tournament Manager. This will not be given unless the player is deemed to be playing in a stronger cup competition than she/he was originally registered.
Due to the amount of teams which are participating at the festival, turn-around times are very quick. If you are late, this will result in a forfeit (loss) as this will effect the days schedule.
Rugby - All Bournemouth 7s rugby games will be played according to the World Rugby Laws and Regulations with 7 and 10-a-side variations as outlined by World Rugby. Bournemouth 7s may implement specific rules which have been authorised by the RFU and in this instance, information will be circulated to all teams.
Touch Rugby - All Bournemouth 7s Mixed Touch Rugby Games will be played according to the England Touch Rugby Rules shown here: http://www.englandtouch.org.uk/play/how-to-play/the-rules/. Bournemouth 7s also reserve the right to implement specific rules which have been authorised by the Touch Rugby Event Managers running the tournament.
Netball - All games will be played according to the IFNA Rules apart from specific Bournemouth 7s Rules – These will be circulated ahead of the festival to team captains if required
Dodgeball - Once the time is up, the team with the most players still in the game wins and receives a point. If it’s a tie, the team that gets the next person out wins.
Rugby - If you are a RFU affiliated rugby team you will automatically be covered to play at the festival through your club’s insurance. All non-affiliated teams are now covered as they are pre-approved by the RFU to be covered by the RFU’s Accidental Death and Permanent Total Disability Insurance, provided the match or tournament is played in accordance with the RFU Rules and Regulations and the World Rugby Laws of the Game. If you are a team or player based outside of England, you will need to provide confirmation of approval from your national federation in order to participate at the Festival. Netball - If you are not affiliated to England Netball, then we heavily encourage that you look into this by visiting the England Netball Insurance Page. Please be aware that Bournemouth 7s accepts no responsibility for any injuries that occur during the National Netball Festival and if you are not affiliated to England Netball, you will be competing in the festival at your own risk. First Aid provisions will be available throughout the weekend and can be accessed by contacting the tournament or event staff.
Dodgeball - Players are responsible for sourcing their own insurance should they deem necessary. Bournemouth 7s accept no responsibility for any injury caused by participating in the Dodgeball Cups. First Aid provision is available throughout the weekend and can be accessed by contacting the tournament or event staff.
Hockey - Players are responsible for sourcing their own insurance should they deem necessary. Bournemouth 7s accept no responsibility for any injury caused by participating in the Hockey cups. First Aid provision is available throughout the weekend and can be accessed by contacting the tournament or event staff..
Rugby - Yes! Bournemouth 7s are proud to be working with the London Society of Referees who provide all referee provisions over the weekend.
Touch Rugby - Our Touch Rugby tournament managers will be providing all equipment, officials and management of the competition.
Netball - Yes, umpires will be provided for you. However teams will be required to provide a scorer (this can be a player). Score cards will be issued by our umpires and scorers will need to stand together.
Hockey - Yes, umpires will be provided for you by the tournament manager.
Touch Rugby - a recommended ratio of 4:3 and no fewer than 2 females per team. 7 per team in total
Netball - Each team may have no more than 4 players of either sex on court at a time. Only one player of each sex is allowed in each third, with the exception of the centre third, where the third player may be of either sex (i.e. GK and GD must be of opposite sexes, as must GA and GS, and no more than two of WA, C and WD may be of the same sex).
Hockey - Mixed teams must have at least 1 male or female in the playing team at all times
Rugby - Yes in the social Rugby cups you can wear some fancy dress items as long as it is safe to play in and your team kit is still clearly visible
Touch Rugby - Yes you can wear fancy dress for the Touch Rugby cup as long as it is safe to play in and your team kit is still clearly visible
Netball - Yes in the social Netball cups you can wear some fancy dress items as long as it is safe to play in and your team kit/ bib is still clearly visible
Dodgeball - Yes, Dodgeball cups are very social and fancy dress is encouraged.
Hockey - Yes you can wear fancy dress for the Hockey cups as long as it is safe to play in and your team kit is still clearly visible
All sports will be played on grass with the exception of Netball which is played on our astroturf courts.
All players must have a valid players weekend ticket.
In elite competitions all players must be part of the squad list submitted pre tournament.
