Following such a successful partnership at our 16th edition festival, we are thrilled to join forces with LooseHeadz for the second year running.
Their mission is to #TackleTheStigma by placing a mental health lead into every rugby club around the world, and to equip them with a toolkit of resources to support the wellbeing of players, coaches & fans.
They are using rugby to open up the conversation around mental health, which is something Bournemouth 7s are incredibly keen to support.
LooseHeadz found that 92% of their followers believe that rugby helps their mental health, however only 54% think their clubs do enough. After learning about the alarming statistic that 1 in 4 people suffer with a mental health problem here in the UK, the charity have sought to bridge the gap between the benefits of sport on our mental health, and providing the support to realise this.
Since we first partnered in 2023, the LooseHeadz team have been working hard to further their positive impact on the rugby world, with a three-step plan:
1. Connect: Build & launch an industry-leading platform to grow the LooseHeadz network and support the mental health of people within rugby
2. Deliver: Develop and roll out a first-of-its-kind training programme in rugby clubs, providing accredited qualifications for all their leads
3. Support: Launch their 'Gold Standard' clinical support programme, backed by experts, to provide emergency interventions and save lives, a service that will be truly groundbreaking globally
